Manufacture & Test Stands

At its four plants in Oberhausen, Berlin, Zurich and Schio, MAN Turbo produces compressors and turbines using the latest technology.

Machines and machinery trains are fully assembled in the production halls and then put on the test stand e.g. in Oberhausen. Three of the plants have test stands for turbomachines, gas and steam turbines, compressors and components as well as an open air test field. The test stands permit the machines to be tested using parameters that approximate to subsequent operating conditions:

• Mechanical test of single machines and complete machinery sets
• Thermodynamic testing
• String Test
• Full Load Test
• Full Pressure Test
• ASME PTC-10, Type 1 und 2 Tests.

A condensing steam turbine and electric motors with variable speeds are available as drives. Four water brake units can be used for turbine tests.
