RSS News Feeds in practice
To use Newsfeeds, you either need a browser that will support them (e.g. Firefox) or a special program, an RSS Reader or Newsreader. You will find a list of free RSS Readers at the upper right of this page.
To subscribe to the MAN Turbo News Feed service, simply bookmark the link above and copy it into your installed RSS Reader. To do this, follow the instructions in the program you are using. If you are using a Web Browser such as Firefox, simply click on the orange symbol at the top right of the address line (on older versions of Firefox, at the bottom right of the window), which is superimposed onto all the pages of the MAN Turbo website.
What is an RSS News Feed?
RSS is a format based on the XML standard, via which you can receive and read text content, e.g. current press releases, without entering the website in question. In contrast to a website including graphic elements, which is accessed from a browser, only the text content is transmitted in an RSS file and is marked in such a way that the information is machine-readable, e.g. using an RSS Reader.
RSS is short for “Rich Site Summary, “RDF Site Summary” or “Really Simple Syndication”. There are several versions of the RSS Standard (currently RSS 0.90 to 2.0).
What is the advantage of an RSS Reader?
The main advantage is that it saves times: a Newsreader automatically trawls through websites to find current entries and clearly lists them. This provides users with the latest content on their websites of preference, without them needing to search for the current content themselves.
Where can I get an RSS Reader?
The following Newsreaders (on the upper right of this page) are available free of charge.
